About Me

My name is Kelly, and I am an elementary school librarian.   I spent five years as a high school librarian, and that is where I developed a true and abiding passion for young adult literature.

I love to read, and I spend as much time doing that as I possibly can.  I especially enjoy young adult literature, but I’ll read almost anything except hardcore horror, westerns, and nearly any book written by Charles Dickens.

My favorite authors are Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, William Goldman, and lots and lots of others.  Some of my favorite books include (but are not limited to):  Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series, The Princess Bride by William Goldman, all of  Rick Riordan’s YA/middle grade mythology-related novels, The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, and too many others to name.

If you’re a fan of social media, you can keep up with me via Twitter, Pinterest, and Goodreads. (I’m also on Facebook, but that’s more of a personal page. You can find me on there if you like.)

Here is a picture of me with Alane Ferguson, author of the YA forensic mysteries The Christopher Killer, The Angel of Death, The Circle of Blood, and The Dying Breath.  (I’m the one with glasses.)

  1. I love your site. Keep it up !

  2. Hi, nice to meet you !

  3. Looks like a great site. I can always trust a librarian to point the way!

  4. I love this Blog! I have read some of your Recommendations and they were fantastic!

  5. I really like this blog! I need some help though. I’m looking for a nice, easy read or two for this summer. Here are some shows and movies that I like: Lost, Dr. Who, Star Trek, Avatar The Last Airbender, the Hunger Games, LOTR, Downton Abby, Harry Potter, and pretty much any movie that has to do with super heroes. Any suggestions as far as books go? Oh, and love stories are fine, I just don’t prefer them to be the focus. Thanks! :)

    • You might want to try Legend by Marie Lu, Ally Condie’s Matched series, Scott Westerfeld’s Leviathan trilogy, Kristin Cashore’s Graceling trilogy, Veronica Roth’s Insurgent series, or anything ever written by Cassandra Clare (my personal favorite author). I hope this helps!

      • Awesome! Thanks for the help!
